Critical Commentary

"Hurricane Sandy: Morning After in Newark and Lyndhurst", shows nearly 12 hours after the storm the immediate look on the major New Jersey cities of Newark and Lyndhurst. In Newark, in the University Heights area trees and power lines were knocked over. In the Ironbound, power was completely out, like the rest of the city. The turnpike was out of commission, the Hackensack River flooded the area, and hotels were looking to house their occupants somewhere else, all of this happening from a storm that boasted 70 mph wind gusts.
