This article has been referenced in several other works concerning the Fukushima plant disaster, such as “The Fukushima Effect: Traversing a New Geopolitical Terrain” by Hindmarch and Priestley, where it was quoted for its opinion that an international group would be needed to overcome bias that may be present in national regulatory agencies.

Aside from being discussed on the Disaster STS Network, this reading has been mentioned other places. For starters, it is a chapter of a larger book, “Nuclear Disaster at Fukushima Daiichi: Social, Political and Environmental Issues.” This book is a collection of writings by international STS scholars. Additionally, this piece has been referenced in several other writings, including the book “The Fukushima Effect: A New Geopolitical Terrain” and the article “Nuclear disaster in Taiwan: a multidimensional security challenge.”
This article has been referenced in a wide variety of emergency medicine journal articles, ranging from flood protocols, use of cell phones in disaster enviroments, earthquakes and medical complications, to the costs of disaster consequences. Many of the articles referencing this paper appear to go into greater depth for some of the epidemics and diseases that were touched on in the research article. These include hepatitis E, Leptospirosis, cholera, and tetanus.
Outside of this class and STS 6834 at Virgina Tech, it was difficult to find other places where this article was referenced. Because the article was published as part of a collection of articles related to this same topic, I assume that those who purchase the book for educational and research purposes read and discus the article at some length.
