Clean Energy Industry

Solar Austin, a local solar advocacy group, is dedicated to accelerating Austin’s transition to clean energy in a way that also strengthens the local economy. They have strong ties to CleanTx, an economic development organization that advocates for the development of Austin’s “clean tech” industry. Solar Austin holds a talk once a month by an expert in solar technology, the solar industry, energy politics, and/or solar energy economics. CleanTx has a “power lunch” where you can meet with local cleantech industry leaders and entrepreneurs. These two organizations often have a presence at each other’s events and even share these events on each other’s websites. They also have a connection to the University of Texas’ Webber Energy Group.
