COVID-19 Field Notes Assignment

Through brief, structured, iterative field notes, students will practice ethnographic skills of attention, observation, and documentation of the everyday. Using prompts based on Lynda Barry’s Six-Minute Diary, these notes are designed to elicit student’s quotidian observations of the pandemic across multiple scales and media, which can be aggregated and analyzed collectively in PECE as a collaborative ethnographic archive.
