The organization does not claim that they have the unique way to address the issue intentionally. Personally think that the OSHA can be reached by educational materials and training institutes are very good for pre-caution to any workplace hazards. They also provided online newsletter on latest news about OSHA to assist both employers and employees.

Under OSHA Law, the employers must ensure their workers are in a safe workplace that does not contain any serious hazards according to the OSHA safety and health standards.

With the employers’ rights and responsibilities, OSHA has provided a list of methods to maximize the safe conditions within the workplace. For example, they have provided free Law Poster relevant to OSH Act for download and posting.

“Notify OSHA within 8 hours of a workplace fatality or within 24 hours of any work-related inpatient hospitalization, amputation or loss of an eye (1-800-321-OSHA [6742]).”

From the “At a Glance.pdf”, OSHA covers a wide range of works from private sector works (including 50 states and other US jurisdictions), states and local government workers that operate their programs to federal government workers.

But their do have some types of workers that are not eligible for the act protection such as self-employed workers, immediate family members of farm employers and workplace hazards regulated by another federal agency (e.g. Mine Safety and Health Administration). The aim of OSHA is to assure the safety and working conditions (prevent workers from being killed or seriously harmed at work [https://www.osha.gov/Publications/3439at-a-glance.pdf]) for either the public or private sectors workers and employers by referring to the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The content of the act is reach through the works by training, education and assistance. This act has a coverage to all 50 states and the outer continental shelf lands.

Funded by Federal Government. e.g.

“ETA (Employment and Training Administration) invested approximately $13 million to turn Job Corps into a program where students gain industry-recognized credentials to meet the demands of the 21st century employer.” (Educational Program) [https://www.dol.gov/sites/default/files/documents/agencies/osec/stratpl…]

“The OSHA law makes it clear that the right to a safe workplace is a basic human right.”

“In 1970, an estimated 14,000 workers were killed on the job – about 38 every day. For 2010, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports this number fell to about 4,500 or about 12 workers per day.”

Industrial works have increased in US such as construction works, shipyard employments and marine terminals. These works are highly dangerous and there were not standards set before the OSHA Law established to protect workers’ safety and working conditions.
