CEHC offers Undergraduate majors and minors and a Graduate certificate. The major requires 39 credits, or 13 courses, to complete. Students must select a concentration from Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity. There are 9 core courses and the remaining 4 are in the concentration. The minor requires a student to take 6 classes in the college. The graduate course of study is divided into tracks in which students take courses.

This program is viewed as a novelty to the public, as it is the first college of its kind to offer a degree in homeland security and emergency preparedness. A number view it as a step in the right direction and an innovation. The program does not appear to have been around for long enough to yeild graduates, so those results are still unkown.

The program began in January of 2015 and was founded to be the first-in-the-nation security college. It was formed with funding that Governor Cuomo allocated. It's founding comes during a time of growing need for homeland security professionals.
