The main point of this article is that there is a crisis in Canada regarding mental health and suicide. Specifically within the Inuit population, a group of Aboriginal People in northern Canada. This issue has been ongoing for many decades, and despite the calls for emergency and the recognition of a crisis, little work has been done to help and prevent further suicide attempts. 

This article particularly focuses on analysis in the aftermath of emergencies. Specifically, in the investigative processes of structural disasters. It highlights the awkward melding of various agencies in the face of public demand for answers. More than anything, it presents this instability in the investigative processes surrounding many emergencies; understanding the logistics of a building's collapse or how a fire rapidly spread only furthers comprehension of the disaster as a whole. Moreover, findings from this analysis could provide strategies for avoiding future emergencies of a similar nature. The article opens investigations for scrutiny, asking why such an integral part of the post-disaster process often gets swept aside.

Since his tenure began in 2013, Taptuna has specifically focused on education and training within the territories in order to gain long-term economic and social stability.

Aboriginal Healing Foundation:  a non-profit organization focusing on building strong cultural ties and enabling community progress through rectifying social wrongs. This includes supporting youth and families in social well-being, training leadership and communities to respond to trauma, and sharing aboriginal stories with outside communities. This organization is cited several times as greatly progressing aboriginal communities while preserving culture, identity, and relationships with outside peoples. It is also cited as having a significant portion of its Federal funding cut, despite overwhelming positive results from initiatives and projects.

This app provides information for healthcare providers about radiological and nuclear emergencies. There is a website as well that has more data, images, and background material to supplement the app. The app has extensive information regarding patient care in the case of an emergency. They provide management algorithms, dose estimators, scarce resources triage tools, isotopes of interest, countermeasures (Rx), emergency contact information, videos, and information regarding triage. 

The chapter appears to be a compilation of accounts of immigrant medical treatments and overviews of the historical context behind several key situations. There is no bibliography, making it difficult to discern where these accounts came from. I can only assume most of this historical context came from Fissan's peers or other peer-reviewed works-- potentially another anthropological book. 

Peter D. Kramer is an American psychiatrist. Currently a faculty member of Brown Medical School, Dr. Kramer conducted most of the research included through patient interaction. As an opinion piece, the article does not carry a significant amount of hard, factual data. However, it should be noted that some factual information comes through published resources, such as current medical protocols held by the American Medical Association.

The citations in this article include not only the author's own work, but also many citations by other experts in the field and data. This tells us that the author did extensive research for this article and looked to others for opinions and information, instead of just using her own ethnographic research.
