Today's visit started with all of us students going down to the canal that runs parallel to Naluwan to collect shells.

I arrived earlier than the other students and had some time to interact with Ivan and his family before the others arrived.

Also this week we spent time with the elderly in the community. Me and Charles had a conversation with a man in a wheelchair that Charles also talked to last time.

Who are the authors, where do they work, and what are their areas of expertise? How is the author professionally situated in respect to emergency response? Note any other publications/research foci that are of relevance to the DSTS Network.

The authors are Stephen Collier, PhD and Andrew Lakoff, PhD. Dr, Collier is an associate professor of international affairs at UC Berkeley. He is an anthropologist by training, and focuses his research on a variety of political schools of thought and their applications. Dr, Lakoff is an associate professor of sociology and focuses his research globalization, biomedical innovation and the history of human sciences.
