The report implies that technical professionals have to be more careful when responding to large scale disasters; staff responding to emergencies need to have more training for the many internal challenges that would lmit care and assistance to victims. MSF discussed how they had limited man power, labs, and resources.
As mentioned, this site offers data on long term health afflictions of those exposed to 9/11. Yet the site also offers information about the participants in the registry. How they were selected, how many people are entered in the registry and where their exact locations were during the attacks. On top of providing data on the participants, the site also offers information on funding, as well as access to annual reports addressing the health impacts of 9/11. The site also gives access to those that the registry works with and collaborates with. The history behind the registry and the attacks are also provided. Sources for all data and a full bibliography is also available along with information about legal aspects of the health and compensation act, enrollee's confidentiality and thousands of other resources.
Due to the mass destruction of the area, the first few days’ data were not able to collect (not only the destruction, but the rescue was the first priority). Therefore, the scientific committee used models to simulate and analyse the data (might not be accurate on the early stage). After the rescue, many countries have provided data to assist the works. For the long‐live radioactive substances, the data was able to collect with the ground soils. Furthermore, prediction can be made with the pass experiences and the basic models.
Disaster investigations look at the emergency response that followed the incident, either the timing or actions taken to save human lives. There's more about the investigations calling for improved emergency preparedness; policies and technology development to prevent disasters such as the Hague Street Explosion (1850) which involved a faulty boiler (and other factors) and the Iroquois theater fire (1903) which led to changed theater building policies.
I researched the current law and statues on immigration and health care/illness in other countries aside from France. I wanted to be able to understand how France's policies compared to our own, as well as America's policies versus other countries. I also researched the immigration protocols in France, both going and coming. Along with this, I also wanted to learn more about their current healthcare system, what they can offer, how advanced they are and compare it to America, to help put it into context. I also wanted to research how their health system works, as well as any protocols they follow in terms of public health.
The received data can be managed and visualised into charts or map tiles (e.g. open street maps or satellite maps). The data is visualized in the panel of “Visualize Your Story “with four modes of visual features.
The policy is a disaster relief act aimed to provide governmental aid/ assistance at the local, state, and national levels for emergency preparedness and response in the event of a major disaster.
