I hope to be involved in projects that aim to gather scientific evidence to inform environmental decision making and advocate for greater equity and justice in environmental governance. Through this work, I hope to learn the skills needed to engage in community based research and leverage community knowledge as expert knowledge. In my department, things are often siloed and issues are only seen through one perspective. I really want to gain more experience in collaborating with a wide array of stakeholders to come up with approaches to mitigate the environmental injustices experienced in under-resourced communities.
This chapter was produce by following the issue of illness of undocumented citizens over the course of several decades, and examining the relationship between how they are treated and social and economic changes. It is linked into changes in policy, memorandums and individual opinions.
The stories had video with both the storytellers and pictures from them. It also includes videos of the storm and it's effects upon the communities.

I could barely find anything on this in particular. In general, there have been more and more support for a stronger mental health system in the United States and while this policy furthers development, some people believe that there is much more that is needed.
It allows for first responders to be able to respond to bio and chem hazards without delay. A simulation they ran of a hazmat response resulted in all patients dying because of a delay in response, and they believe this could happen in a real disaster as well if not for this policy.
