The World Health Assembly adopted resolution WHA65.4 on the global burden of mental disorders and the need for a comprehensive, coordinated response from health and social sectors at the country level. It is necessary, in order to properly address growing global disasters and health-threats such as epidemics, to have a global approach to health instead of a national focus.

This article has implications for public health, as the treatment of people, rather than patients, is what is emphasized here.
