A coalition of churches, synagogues, mosques, and cultural organizations located in the Inland Empire. Unfortunately, without any up-to-date number of members in this coalition.

For the org. there is a spiritual connection linking the desert landscapes and religious beliefs. Their primary focus is congregating more groups around environmental hazards in desert lands.

The organization is looking for a “new dimension and depth” in the discussion about the environmental crisis. Engaging in different fields:

  • alternative energy development,
  • mining, recreation,
  • military exercises,
  • transportation corridors
  • proposed national monuments.

Mutual Aid/Best Practices vs Local Practices

This image reminds me of how mutual aid and communities keep each other fed, and safe, and how local practices are actually best practices. My own research， although not immediatley related to the specific public health concern of COVID, will focus on Indigenous food soverignty, particularly the right and autonomy to ferment and distribute alcohol (紅糯米酒) within the Amis community, and their current fight with the local health department on declaring whether or not their alcohol is "safe" for public consumption and distribution.

The article illustrates with the use of statistics of the health care system and their diagnostic method that while the program was created with good intentions, it has become apparent that in order to receive the financial assistance necessary, they need to seek assistance from influential advocacy groups.

The Waiting Room, a documentary film addressing the conversation about health care reform and equal access to care, goes through the lives of those in the emergency room of a hospital. It addresses the problem that some families have no other choice, but to visit the ER, since they do not have a PCP (Primary Care Provider) or insurance.  Additional unforeseen cases, such as trauma, arrests, and individuals that have very urgent needs only naturally make the wait longer.
