AK COVID-Development Studies Intersections

I am currently in the process of transitioning my M.A. level course on Science, Technology, and Development with 11 students to virtual instruction. One of my interests in engaging with COVID-19 is to examine how it (should) informs development ideologies and practices. How should students of development studies retool -- conceptually, methodologically, practically -- in wake of the pandemic?

The users can either collect data or send data with the mobile apps or on the software their developed. In current stage the most engagement from the users are to gather submissions from the populations that need helps. In the future, users are able to submit reports and maps from their mobile apps.

The information of the article was collected by investigating several news agencies. The film show MSF daily life, and difficulties they meet. As well as the personal narrative reveals their inner thoughts and emotions. There are some scientific information is provided. For example, Dr Tom Krueger doing an operation for a man who was shot on the head, and the description of the situation within scientific information. The film have emotional appeal which are struggle, sad and complexity. The music of the film and each characters’ emotions are revealed.

  • Anecdote are used as a tool to reveal the inequality. A Senegalese man was undergo irregular treatment for six years, and his father was injured when serving with the Senegalese Tirilleurs. However, the only source of income are paid very late and is not sufficient.

Technical professionals could plan the possible solution to deal with the incarcerated group by using the data to observe the relevant age groups, race groups or income groups. For example, gain a further study with the reason with certain group accessibility to the health facilities to improve the public health. Or improve living qualities with other authorities.
