This image reminds me of how mutual aid and communities keep each other fed, and safe, and how local practices are actually best practices. My own research， although not immediatley related to the specific public health concern of COVID, will focus on Indigenous food soverignty, particularly the right and autonomy to ferment and distribute alcohol (紅糯米酒) within the Amis community, and their current fight with the local health department on declaring whether or not their alcohol is "safe" for public consumption and distribution.

A quote of NRC spokesman Neil Sheehan which is, "Quite frankly, we don't have any nuclear-plant complexes where you have so many reactors packed so closely together" capture the message of the article. It shows there are no nuclear emergency plans for Indian Point Disaster. In the 10 miles radius or even 50 miles radius, there should be prepared an emergency plans and educated the resisdents about the nuclear disaster. 

Another quote "I;m not against the planning. It's where is the funding going to come from to make it happen?" of Steven Peterson, who is director of emergency management for Ulster County, N.Y.. It reveals within the 50 miles radius area provide nuclear emergency plant need federal support and guidance. Government and organisations should offer resisdents a specific emergency plants, such as evacuation and power plants.

Smart Guardrail is autoalrm and could be send location to the nearset emergency centre by GPS when the car crash into the guardrail. As well as the warning light within the area will be swithched on to avoid the potential sencond accident. The system is design to install into the highway guardrail, and use the circuit to make the system work. Therefore, the materials might be include electrical wire and circuit, and also plastic caution lights.

The Ushahidi Ecosystem has aimed to serve people that have limited access to the world, for example, areas around (East) Africa (“hard-to-reach places”).  One of the event the platform focused on is the post-election violence in Kenya 2008, whereas people have raised their voice to the world via the handy technological tools.

There are two (2) courses for this program. For age 19-40 yrs.

  1. Rehabilitation Technicians - Assistant Physiotherapists (18 months)
  2. Orthoprosthetic Technicians (2 years – 2.5 years)
  • Learnt to design and repair prostheses
  • Assist a physiotherapist etc.
  • Practical work experience in hospital and rehabilitation units (support by a tutor)
  • Learnt to face the reality situations and deal with them

  • Emergency response to death threatening or serious illness from the government creates gaps for immigrants to seek residence permits.
  • The significant increase of immigrants from 1998 to 2005 creates complex problems for the system both locally and nationally.
  • Humanitarian reasons stops the illegal immigrants from being deported; however, the increase number of immigrants limited the applicability of the legal protection.
