The documentary not only follows the events throghout the catastrophe, but also follows the story of a man whom lost a majority of his family from the natural disaster as well. His story acts as a binding agent, giving the story a better flow and emotional connection.

The article examines the similarities and differences between the events, their responses, and the policies enacted because of them. The 1814 burning Capitol Building, Hague Street boiler explosion, and the attack on the WTC in 2001 are examples used by the author.
