Alli Morgan is a PhD candidate in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her research explores the science, politics, and practice of clinical diagnosis within the U.S. healthcare system, with a particular focus on conditions which resist diagnosis. Particularly interested in toxic and environmental health conditions, Morgan's dissertation work traces the subject formation of patients through cases of military burn pit exposure, sexual assault, and chronic pain.
As a first responder, Morgan utilizes the DSTS platform with EMT students through the "Health and Emergencies" course she designed and delivered at Rensselaer: http://disaster-sts-network.org/content/updated-syllabus-102716. Morgan is interested in collaborations using the platform in other field and clinical settings.
