I have worked in the 'Politics and International Studies' department of the University of Warwick, UK, since 2012. In that time, I have been Principal Investigator on 2 grants relating to disaster recovery: 'Securing through the Failure to Secure: Reclaiming the Sites of Terrorist Attack' (British Academy, 2012-14) & 'Resilience at the Bombsite: Reconstructing Post-Terrorist Space' (ESRC 2016-19). My research explores the memorialisation and reconstruction of disaster sites in the United States and Europe, reconsidering these practices as retrospective enactments of security which efface social trauma. Recently I published a monograph on these themes: 'Death and Security: Memory and Mortality at the Bombsite' (Manchester University Press, 2016).
