大家經常聽到的六輕就是第六輕油裂解廠，輕油裂解可以生產出我們日常生活所需的許多產品，其中塑膠是最被普遍使用的大家對塑膠的依賴有多大，就讓石化王國的版圖有多大，到底六輕這座石化王國是如何形成的呢？
1998年，一座石化王國誕生在雲林麥寮外海。六輕，是台灣第六座輕油裂解廠，也是台灣第一名的碳排放大戶。它的填海造陸規模，創下世界紀錄，也從此改變海岸的面貌。它每年創造上兆產值，也帶來未知的健康風險。煙囪下的居民，要怎麼繼續走向與六輕為鄰的下一個二十年？
The Liuqing(六輕) that you often hear is the sixth light oil cracking plant ( sixth naphtha cracker ). Light oil cracking can produce many products that we need in daily life. Among them, plastic is the most commonly used. How big is the territory? How did the petrochemical kingdom of Liuqing form?
In 1998, a petrochemical kingdom was born in the sea off Mailiao, Yunlin. Liuqing is the sixth light oil cracking plant in Taiwan and the largest carbon emitter in Taiwan. Its scale of land reclamation has set a world record and has since changed the appearance of the coast. It creates trillions of output value every year and also brings unknown health risks. How can the residents under the chimney continue to move towards the next twenty years when they are neighbors with Liuqing?

Dacheng's Taisi - A forgotten village [被遺忘的台西村]
彰化大城台西村，長住人口462人，七、八年來，28人罹患癌症，這個和六輕隔著濁水溪相望的聚落，始終默默承受台塑六輕的污染，現在村民開始對外發聲、爭取權益。連續四年，詹長權教授接受雲林縣政府委託，做六輕周圍鄉鎮居民的流行病學調查，從3,243個人的血液和尿液中，檢測是否有石化產業污染物，並且做詳細的身體檢查。
另外在健康風險評估，環保署將在六輕監督委員會中，要求六輕納入，而有關於流行病學調查，也將開始啟動，補助彰化縣政府去進行。
Taixi Village, Dacheng, Changhua, has a long-lived population of 462. In the past seven or eight years, 28 people have suffered from cancer. 濁水溪北岸，彰化縣大城鄉最接近濁水溪出海口的村落，台西村。老村長許奕結要導覽一棟台西最崇高的建築物，三層樓仔。老村長說「這棟房子原來是要蓋給六輕員工住的，結果變成人家養鴨、養羊，鴨子住樓房！」同樣在濁水溪口，彰化大城與雲林麥寮，同樣的風水寶地，命運卻大不同。
